Measure, pour, mix, bake. Your kid does all of it in a kitchen shrunk down to their height. My boys made snowskin mooncakes here and walked out holding their own box of them.
Most kids’ baking classes let the adult take over the moment things get tricky. This one is set up so the kid stays in charge, and the grown-ups get to stand back with their phones out.
Funseekers’ Verdict: A proper hands-on baking class, not a “watch the teacher” one. $28 covers 75 minutes, all the ingredients, and a box of whatever your kid made to bring home. Parents can join free in public classes.

The Kitchen
The whole setup is built for small people. Child-sized counters, real tools, a real kitchen, just mini. Nothing looks like a toy. It’s a working kitchen scaled down, so the kids get the real thing at their height.
Kids do the measuring, pouring and mixing themselves. That makes it more “I made this” than “I watched this”, and you can see the difference in how proud they are at the end.
How the Class Works
Each session runs 75 minutes with a facilitator guiding the group. It’s Montessori-based, so the kids work through the steps themselves: measure, pour, mix, bake. They pick up fine motor skills, concentration and the habit of doing things in order without really noticing they’re learning.
Older kids can bake on their own with the facilitators nearby. Kids below 7 need a parent with them, and the facilitators help with the tricky parts.

What the Kids Made: Lemon Mooncakes
On our visit, the boys made snowskin mooncakes shaped like little lemons. Yes, lemons! It looked exactly like the photo on the booking page, which is not something I can say about most things my kids make. They carried the box home like it was treasure.
The bake changes from session to session. Recent Downtown East classes have included:
- Flowery Bears Choco Bun
- Pink Bear Creamy Sandwich Cookies
- Beary Sweet Cinnamon Churros
- Beary Strong SablΓ© Cookies
- Chill Polar Bear Cake
All were $28 each. Check the booking page for the latest lineup before you go, as it changes regularly.
What You Get for $28
Ingredients and tools are all provided. Your kid gets a loan chef hat and apron, a digital recipe to try again at home, and a takeaway box with the finished bake. The takeaway box is the real prize, honestly. Nothing says “I did this” like carrying your own bake out the door.

For Parents
Joining is free in public classes, so you can bake alongside your kid or step back and let the facilitators run it. Both work.
The open-space layout makes photos easy, so you can stand at the edge and snap away. Jump in only when your kid asks for help, and let them figure out the rest.
School Holidays
Gobblin also lists holiday camps for the year-end school holidays, including at Downtown East. Check the booking page for dates.
Final Thoughts
Good fit for kids who like getting hands-on, and for parents who want an activity that isn’t screen time. $28 for 75 minutes with a bake to bring home feels fair. The mooncakes alone were worth it for us. Book your slot first, as it’s by booking only.
