Tampines has three big malls fighting for your attention. SkyHop is not in any of them. It’s tucked in a quiet corner of the commercial buildings at Tampines Point, so you walk past nothing exciting on the way in. Then you step inside and it’s a unique indoor playground, and it’s exhilarating.
Funseekers’ Verdict: Very fun. Besides the usual indoor playground stuff, there’s a full high ropes obstacle course and two very high and exciting kids’ climbing walls. Our boys went non-stop from the first minute to the last.

High-Ropes Obstacle Course – Exhilarating and Scary At The Same Time
This is the reason to come. Kids put on a harness, clip in, and tackle a rope obstacle course way above the playground floor. Hanging stepping pods, wobbly bridges, balance beams, the whole thing. It’s a proper course, not a cute rope net. Our eldest had more than a few goes through the various routes. Our younger son? Unfortunately he wasn’t allowed to have a go at it due to height restrictions, so do watch out for this!
For parents, it’s an easy one to watch from the ground. Phone camera ready.

Full-On Climbing Wall – 2 Tracks, and It’s HIGH
Next to the ropes is the climbing wall. Two tracks, so two kids can go at it side by side. One lane is lit up with arrows. It’s a real American Ninja climbing wall! Honestly, this wall is very, very high for an indoor playground. A climbing wall for kids is rare in indoor playgrounds in Singapore, so definitely a highlight for the kids!
Harness on, and staff will check. Again, if your kid is under the height limit, they can’t go up, so measure before you promise anything in the car.

Huge Ocean Ball Pool with Floats and a Banana Boat
The ball pool is the centre of the whole place, and it’s massive. White, teal and purple balls, with a big float in the pool and even a banana boat.
Daddy dragged the boys along in the banana boat for a good few minutes, a great workout for the father and a great sea adventure for the boys.

Slides, Slides and More Slides
There are many slides here. Twin tube drop slides drop straight into the ball pool, and kids race each other down, then run back up and do it again. A wide wave slide lets two or three go down side by side. Soft padded landings everywhere, so parents can relax a little.

The Usual Indoor Playground Favourites
All the classics are here. A sand pit and a pastel bead pit for scooping and pouring, which the younger kids love sitting in forever. Trampolines with interactive screens where the kids play games while bouncing. Ball play, ride-on cars and the cute ride-on llamas for the little ones.
Parents can sit outside the play area at the seats and tables and keep an eye on everyone.

Nintendo Switch and TV – Not Something You See In Indoor Playgrounds
Also something not seen in indoor playgrounds in Singapore: a Nintendo Switch and a TV! The Switch was definitely a fun one, with tons of the usual fun games. The TV was playing nice shows too, Zootopia and Ne Zha. But it’s not good if the kiddos get glued to the TV instead of doing what they’re there for: play the indoor playground!

Party Bookings
SkyHop does parties, and it’s honestly a good venue for one. The party room is yours exclusively for 2 hours, with 2.5 hours of playground time. You can bring your own catering, choose a theme for the deco, and every kid gets a goodie bag. See the party packages here.

Final Thoughts
Definitely an amazing indoor playground that we went to! The high ropes and the climbing walls make it more than a ball-pit-and-slides place, and the ball pool is just big fun. We’d go back, especially for the climbing.
Which one would your kid go for first: the high ropes, the climbing walls or the banana boat?
