Chill ‘N Chow is a dog cafe, but the dogs are Chow Chows, so picture a room full of fluffy bears who are somehow totally fine with being hugged. Our kids were gone the moment we walked in. Lunch was just something we ate in between cuddles.

Cuddling the Chow Chows
This is the reason you’re here. The Chow Chows are right there in the cafe, and the kids can pet them, play with them, or just flop down next to one and laze around. There are plenty of dog toys you can play with them, so playtime with the Chow Chows is sorted.
Feeding time is the fun part. Hold out some food and they will swarm you in about two seconds, a whole crowd of fluff all wanting the same thing. Stay close if you have little ones.
They know some tricks too. You can get them to give paw, shake hands, sit, stand or even roll. Your kids will feel like proper dog trainers.
One Chow Chow is completely obsessed with the sticky fur roller. Hold it up in front of the dog and it will keep jumping, really high. Fun to watch, but this one is very strong, so you might get scratched.
They’re fluffy, but also kinda heavy, so keep an eye on the smaller ones.
For parents, it’s easy. Sit down, order something, and watch your kids go full dog whisperer. If you love dogs yourself, nobody’s stopping you from joining in.
The Food and Drinks
Let’s start with the mains. The menu is extensive, and the ones we tried were really good: Black Pepper Chicken Chop with wedges, Teriyaki Chicken Burger and Smoked Duck Aglio Olio.
For drinks, the Coconut Vanilla Milkshake comes with a cookie, and the cookie alone was heavenly. There’s also Cuddles on the Beach, a watermelon drink with a name that suits the place perfectly, and Thai milk tea if you need your caffeine fix.
Desserts are creative too. There’s fried banana, and a muah chee mochi you tiao dessert. And there’s complimentary ice cream, so the sweet tooth is covered.
Good to Know
Remember to wear socks. Yes, even if you’re only here for the dogs.
You get 1 hour here, which is just nice for cuddling, playing and a meal. Free Wi-Fi is available if you need to reply to a work message or two.
It’s closed on Mondays, so plan your JB trip around that.

Good food, a drinks menu that’s actually interesting, and a room full of Chow Chows that the kids will not want to leave. If you’re in JB with animal lovers at home, this is an easy yes. Would we go back? Yes, and the kids didn’t even let us debate it.
